Background

Mary Kay grew up in Kingston, New York, a small town located on the Hudson River at the foot of the Catskill Mountains.

Mary Kay's father was a trial attorney and a surrogate court judge, and her older brother is a criminal defense attorney still practicing in Kingston, New York.

Outside of the office Mary Kay and her husband, retired attorney Michael Higgins, enjoy hiking, listening to opera, traveling, and following the Washington Husky football team. Mary Kay and Mike are avid civil war historians who love to visit Civil War battlefields in their travels.
